About Service Metal Fabricators

Over its 40+ years, Service Metal Fabricators has grown into the East Coast’s premier supplier of innovative electronic enclosures and custom precision sheet metal.

Built to service the tech industries’ highly engineered, tight-tolerance metal needs, Service Metal has diversified into providing all fabrication processes under one roof simplifying and de-risking supply chains for a broad customer base. This diversification encompasses chemical finishes, painting and powder coating in addition to all structural metal work. SMF also produces and applies silkscreens according to your company artwork and handles all manner of mechanical final assembly processes.

Operating out of our 60,000 sq foot facility in southeast Virginia, SMF has ample capacity to scale with your growth owing to a skilled workforce and extensive equipment list. Machine redundancy helps ensure timely delivery of your parts every time. Most critical to our track record of delivering accurate, high-quality parts on schedule, however, is something found directly in our name: Service. Many fabricators can deliver your parts eventually. Doing so with parts made right and ready to flow into your production line right on cue: that’s Service.

Our Focus on Innovation

By virtue of our location near hotspots for innovative tech companies, and a focus on state-of-the-industry applications and processes, SMF has grown alongside some of the most successful and largest companies in the US. Our award-winning tenure as lead supplier for Becton Dickinson’s laboratory blood analyzing systems on the East Coast helped propel that company into a Fortune 173 powerhouse today.

Likewise, a $15 billion transportation company relies on Service Metal for its Electronics division’s enclosures and chassis, as does an up-and-coming solar company that is facilitating smart circuitry in homes. We’re also firmly planted in the ever-evolving field of TEMPEST computing, which serves to safeguard controlled and classified information for the diplomatic and intelligence communities. Finally, we’ve had the honor of supplying helm stations installed on the bridges of one dozen U.S. aircraft carriers, along with a wide variety of metal components for the innovative, technically demanding machinery that supports the United States armed forces.
