Shearing
Fundamental to all metalwork, shearing cuts metal in one stroke and takes three primary forms. Blanking operations reduce the metal from large sheets, mostly 4 x 10 feet, to sizes that fit into turret punch presses. Second, many flat, but previously punched parts, are re-sheared to attain specified dimensions. Finally, some simple parts only require precision shearing to match the called-for geometries. Our four Wysong shears stand ready to complete your task no matter which type of shearing your project calls for, in whatever quantities, and in a wide variety of materials.
In most cases, you need not concern yourself with deciding between these three related processes. Choosing the right operations to match your end products’ specified dimensions is just one aspect of the manufacturing service we provide. We can also advise on various types of material, both metals and plastics, when such decisions might remain unresolved from the design process.
