Vertical Milling & CNC Machining
Service Metal Fabricators is not only your source for industrial metal fabrication and production metal chassis, enclosures and components—our facility is fully equipped for a wide range of CNC machining as well. Discover how these services can be utilized to yield the best results for all your precision sheet metal fabrication projects and more!
Vertical Milling to Augment Punching
Featuring 3 Strippit 1500 CNC 30-ton turret punch presses, another Strippit 1000 machine and a catalog of tooling with well over 5,000 geometries, we are equipped to punch the vast majority of features that arise within your parts while avoiding tooling charges, except in the rarest of cases. For those remaining irregular geometries, we’re equipped with 3 Vertical CNC mills that, once again, allow us to maintain production of your part in-house. The flexibility of vertical milling, for example, allows us to produce large crescent shapes. Further, some of your design requirements might break with industry conventions concerning placement of features or hole size. Our machining capabilities allow Service Metal to say “yes, we can produce that” where others say “no.”
CNC Machining
We machine metals and various plastic parts, as well. Typically made of bar, block or sheet that is too thick for punching, these parts’ geometries do not lend themselves to processes (like punching and forming) that generally provide better leverage and efficiency of machine hours.
More Than Vertical Milling and CNC Machining for Precision Sheet Metal Fabrications
We provide comprehensive metal fabrication for production volumes with most of our business build-to-spec. However, we have the expertise to assist you with design engineering including Design For Manufacturing (DFM) along with such services as reverse-engineering a component or enclosure. As a full-service shop, we also offer a wide range of customized services, including Powder Coat & Wet Painting, Shearing, Punching, MIG & TIG Welding, Surface Deburring and Graining, Bending, and Forming, and Spot-Welding. Additional services include Silk-screening, Hardware Installation, Finishing, Full Quality Assurance, and Prototype Design services.
